Aloha Nā Koa members,

In late September, we were very excited to learn that our conference, the Mountain West, had decided to resume football competition with an ambitious start date of October 24th. As you have probably heard, the intent is to play an eight-game season with a championship game scheduled for Saturday, December 19. Of course, all games are subject to each school’s particular regulations.

Fortunately, your Warriors had already been participating in strength and conditioning activities as allowed by UH and local guidelines. The coaching staff had also been preparing a plan that could be implemented immediately. Once the announcement was made, walk-throughs started the next day and full-pad practice shortly after. Unfortunately, practice had to be paused for a period, but resumed with enthusiasm and purpose; our Warriors are resilient and working hard every day.

We are energized by our schedule and it is great to be back on the field with a chance to compete for the Mountain West Championship. As always, the health and safety of players, staff and community are our top priority as we prepare for our first game on October 24th in Fresno against the Bulldogs.

As always, our heartfelt mahalo for your steadfast support of our Warriors! Thank you for being a Nā Koa member! Won’t you encourage your friends and relatives to join, too?
