Aloha Warrior football fans!

Unfortunately, your Warriors did not bring home the win against the UCLA Bruins match up played in the historic Rose Bowl. However, the team traveled well and learned a lot from this season opener. The players and coaches are very excited to being playing this weekend on the UH Mānoa campus. We are disappointed that you, our fans, will not be there in person to cheer us on, but we know that wherever you are, you will be cheering us on Saturday night and for the rest of the season.

Fall football camp concluded in early August and game preparations were set in motion for the fall season. We were all very disappointed to learn that we would not be able to play in front of our fans at our home opener on September 4th. We were looking forward to showing off the Clarence TC Ching Complex renovations and defending our turf on the UHM Campus for the first time in UH Football history. However, we know that safety of the community and our team needs to be our top priority. And, we are hopeful that we will be able to have fans at some point in the season when it is safe to do so.

The Coaching staff and I are optimistic about the rest of our season, too. Six of our 13 games will be televised on national TV giving our program great exposure and helping our recruiting efforts. While over half of our games are on the road, our team is disciplined and traveled well last year so we know we are up to the challenge. The UH medical team continues to provide excellent support and guidance. As previously reported we were one of very few FBS teams that played all of our games last year and our goal is to do the same this year.

Membership renewals for the 2021-22 year continue (nakoa.org/membership/) and we still need your and the community’s support. If you haven’t already and are a member, please consider renewing your membership in Nā Koa. If you are not a member, please join our support team. Every dollar goes directly to support your Rainbow Warrior Football team in the areas of education, safety and health.

Take care, stay safe, and Win Every Day!
