The Nā Koa Football Club hosted our major fundraising event held in memory of one of our founding members, the 25th Annual Ed Wong Memorial Golf Tournament at the beautiful Prince Golf Club in Ewa. The event held on April 9th, raised over $50,000 for the Warrior football program. 225 golfers were treated to a fun day of golf, food, beverages, goodie bags and prizes for their team sponsorships.
Every golfer was given a Hawai’i Pacific Health draw-string backpack filled with goodies ranging from Dave & Buster game cards, bags of taro/sweet potato chips from the Hawaiian Chip Company, cookies from Diamond Bakery and car washes from the Tony Auto Group and more!! The 25th, 50th and 75th placed teams received grand prizes in celebration of the 25th anniversary.
Our golfers did not go home hungry! Food and drinks were provided throughout the day starting with a filling bento from Tamura’s Super Market in Waianae, food stations at each of the rest stops with food from Papa John’s pizza, Paul’s Poppers, Zippy’s chili and rice, Eisenberg hot dogs, Murphy’s sliders, Pagoda’s raw oysters, ice cream from Dippin’ Dots and drinks provided by Heineken, Paradise Beverages, Coca-Cola and RHS Distilleries. The banquet dinner included a special seafood bar provided by Diamond Head Seafood.
Funds raised from this event will go towards Nā Koa’s mission to support our Warriors in the areas of education, health and safety.
The date has been tentatively set for the 26th Annual Ed Wong Memorial Golf Tournament: Tuesday, April 14th and we will be returning to the Prince Golf Club.
